Sebastián Castañeda.- Peru, one of the countries most affected in the world by the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the health emergency began in Peru in March due to the coronavirus, around 190,000 people have died compared to 96,000 in the same period last year. The upward trend in new daily deaths has set off alarms, as hospitalizations, which had also marked the lowest figures in eight months, have risen again and in just three weeks about a thousand beds have been reoccupied by cases of COVID-19. Some regions have already warned that their intensive care rooms are already full again, leaving Peru's fragile public health system once again on the brink of collapse.
